ECO4 Project

We have completed work under multiple Government schemes, including ECO4 and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS).

The ECO4 scheme is a UK government energy-efficiency programme designed to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions by funding home improvements for low-income and vulnerable households. It ran from 2022 to 2026.

The GBIS is designed to fund single insulation upgrades (such as loft or cavity wall insulation) for low-income households and homes in lower council tax bands with poor energy ratings. The scheme aimed to combat fuel poverty. It ran from 2022 to 2026.

About the schemes

Central heating systems

We've installed first-time central heating systems, upgraded boilers, and smart heating controls in numerous properties.

Modern boilers and heating systems provide multiple benefits:

• More efficient heating. This helps people get the most from their heating systems and save on energy bills.

• Quieter systems. Modern boilers are quieter, creating a more peaceful home environment.

• Smart Heating Control integration. Modern boilers can integrate with smart heating controls, giving greater control over how energy is used, resulting in greater efficiency, improved comfort, and reduced energy consumption.

Windows & doors

We've installed new windows and doors as part of a whole-house approach, helping people get the most out of their heating systems and other installations.

Installing new windows and doors has multiple benefits:

• Reduced heat loss. Through new, double-glazed windows and more robust doors.

• Reduced external noise. Resulting in a more peaceful home environment.

• Improved security. Stronger materials and improved locking systems help make homes more secure.

• Improved aesthetics. Replacing worn windows and doors will improve overall home aesthetics.

• Supported ventilation systems. Better overall home ventilation with controlled airflow.

Ventilation

Good ventilation is an essential part of a home's health. We have improved ventilation in multiple properties.

Improving ventilation systems has the following benefits:

• Improved air quality. This is important for physical and mental health.

• Reduced risk of damp and mould. Moisture is efficiently extracted from the home, protecting health and preventing home damage.

• Reduced lingering smells. Improving overall home environment.

• Improved convenience. We install extraction fans that automatically detect moisture and switch themselves on/off when necessary. This improves convenience; no need to remember to switch them on/off, and it is more suitable for people with limited/reduced mobility.

Insulation

We install various types of insulation: cavity wall, loft, flat roof, internal wall, and external wall.

A well-insulated home brings the following benefits:

• Warmer in winter. Insulation helps retain heat when it's cold outside, acting as a blanket. Helping heating systems run more efficiently and reduces energy bills.

• Cooler in summer. Insulation helps regulate home temperature, helping it stay cooler in summer.

• Reduced mould risk. By reducing cold spots.

• Improved home environment. By helping soundproof rooms and block external noise.

Energy-efficient lighting

We install energy-efficient lighting, typically LED light bulbs.

This brings the following benefits:

• Reduced energy use. LED light bulbs use less energy compared to traditional incandescent, halogen, and compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs.

• Improved light quality. Bright light is provided straight away; they don't take time to get bright.

• Reduced maintenance. LED bulbs usually last longer and therefore don't need changing as often.
